Washy Wednesday

I think I've mentioned before that I live with my sister. She's a junior in college and majoring in "nutrition" (that's a story for another day). As I was washing dishes the other day, I realized, I am the apartment mom. Why? Because, daily, I feel the need to ask her, "What exactly would you say you do around here?"

To put it in perspective, I've composed a list of things she has NEVER done in our apartment. She has never:
-taken out the bathroom garbage
-cleaned the bathtub
-cleaned a window, anywhere
-replaced a light bulb
-mopped the kitchen, bathroom, or entryway floor
-dusted...anything
-vacuumed the living room, dining room, or stairs
-bought weekly groceries (seriously)
-payed a bill
-picked up the mail
-checked to make sure the door was locked, you know so we don't get robbed
-watered a plant
-turned off all the lights before she leaves.

I also estimate the ratio of the dishes I wash to be about 20-1.

Oh, and did I mention that we've lived here for a year and a half?

  1. Maybe she needs a chore list like some parents do for their children?

  2. Maybe she needs her own place....

  3. I could not live with my sister. She is such a slob that I might go balistic on her. Then that would be a real bloody mess.

  4. My sister is the same way. Thank God we went to different colleges.

  5. You have different mess tolerance levels. She would get to these things, just not as quickly as you do. My best friend and I ran into the same problem when we tried living together. We discovered that while we are best friends, we just cannot live together harmoniously.

  6. Okay, how do you not become the screaming exorcist woman? I would have TOTALLY lost it by now. You are a better girl than I am, that's for sure.
